The Difference Between Bid & Ask in Metals Pricing

There is a lot to consider when it comes to the difference between a bid and an ask in the metals market. The precious metals dealer sets the bid and ask prices that dealers offer investors and owners directly. The price they will pay, as well as the price at which they will sell , varies per dealer and is mostly determined by market conditions and profit margin. Dealers typically demand a slightly greater price than they are willing to buy it back for in bid pricing. This permits dealers to generate a margin on precious metal scrap they sell to investors.
